AT&T
Ringtones With mMode |
The most
exciting AT&T ringtones are provided in the mMode service.
mMode is based on the Japanese i-Mode service that NTT DoCoMo,
the Japanese wireless giant, operates. In fact, NTT is a minority
owner in AT&T Wireless. |
Only select
mMode phones are capable of downloading AT&T ringtones. At
least the following mMode phones support ringtones (in fact, most
of them support polyphonic ringtones): |
• Nokia
3650
• Nokia 6310i
• Nokia 6590
• Siemens C56
• Motorola C333
• Panasonic GU87
• Sony Ericsson T68i
• Sony Ericsson T306
• Motorola T720 |
mMode is
much more than just ringtones. The service also has wireless office
applications, location services, games, text based information
services, and more. |
With mMode,
you can subscribe to a variety of music services apart from ringtones.
As for ringers,
the AT&T ringtones for mMode come from companies such as AOL
Music and Warner Music. |
In order to get the mMode ringtones,
you have to have a plan that supports mMode. The cheapest add-on
mMode service (additional cost on top of the regular cell phone plan)
starts at $2.99 a month. |
Availability of mMode is currently
limited to 14 major metropolitan areas in the U.S., so you have to
check if these services are available in your area. |
